3.2 in 32:04

Well, I didn't wake up early enough to run before work so I figured I would come home in the early afternoon and get a few a miles in before dinner. Works conspired against me and 5 o'clock found me packing up my belongings to catch the bus home. I was tired. The few hours of work were a bit draining and I had been feeling weirdly light headed and hot but not in a feverish sort of way. More like in a, "hey your metabolism is raging" sort of way.

Anyhow, the Hubster suggested burritos and martinis for dinner so I figured I better stoke the metabolic fires a little more to help me burn off the impending Carb Bomb that was about to go off in my T.V room. The Hubster and I split our duties: he would go acquire the Veggie Carb Bombs while I would go conquer the damp asphalt. We are a match made in heaven.

I walked less up The Hill than I have before. That was a nice accomplishment. What was also nice is that I came pretty close to breaking the 10 minute mile barrier. When I run on flat surfaces, I shoot for a consistent 10 minute mile pace. However, incorporating hills into my routine has made that pace...ummmm...hard. So I hold up in my mind as The Hilly Grail. So close today! So close! I ran the 3.2 mile loop in 32:04. A respectable time but I can't help but ask myself, "Where did I go wrong? Where could I have shaved off 4 seconds of my running time?"
